Seaple, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Seapal, the water utility company in Puerto Vallarta, South America, implemented advanced oxidizing Nanobubble technology from Filtoflex to remove Iron (Fe) and Manganese (Mn) from wells, improving the quality of potable water on the West Coast of Mexico. With the support of Israeli company PALGEY MAIM, a state-of-the-art water treatment plant was designed and built to ensure that Puerto Vallarta families have access to high-quality drinking water for the next half-century. This ambitious project marks a new era in the supply of drinking water for the region.

Filtoflex Nanobubble System was located at the head of the production pool, generating Nano air bubbles at high intensity, creating enriched water at a range of 1.5 m3 per hour.

The Solution
The Results

Puerto Vallarta’s water supply system is in crisis in terms of available drinking water quantities. ‎Existing wells are contaminated. The challenge was the removal of iron and manganese from potable well water that contains 5 PPM, 5 NTU. The goal was to decrease the iron to 0.3 PPM and 0.5 NTU.

The Solution

The treatment went through three reactors of M3 with very strong intensity of Ozone Nanobubbles. Flow rate of 144 m3 per hour – 40 liters/second.‎

After the reactors, the media cleansing came in and removed the iron and manganese from oxidization.

In addition, there was a final removal of other pollutants.
Sand filtration (12 pressure filter units).

Mexico

The application of the Ozone Nanobubble technology by Filtoflex successfully removed the iron and brought the water to values of 0.3 and less of dissolved iron and 0.45 NTU.
