Dovrat Reservoir

The Dovrat reservoir is a large artificial lake located near the Dovrat Wastewater Treatment Plant. It is used to store secondary wastewater that has been treated at the plant and is intended for irrigation purposes of almond orchards.

The reservoir is 71 dunams, (approximately 17.7 acres). It has a volume of 350,000 cubic meters, (92,500,000 gallons). The maximum depth of the water in the reservoir is 7 meters (23 feet).
The reservoir is an important resource for irrigation in the local area and helps to ensure a reliable supply of water for agricultural purposes.

Purification of Wastewater & Municipal Water Treatment

The success of the water treatment process was measured by how quickly the filter capacity meter would become clogged. Before treatment, the filters were constantly being washed due to the rapid clogging of the meter, which occurred after only one minute of use. However, after two weeks of treatment, the filtration capacity meter was able to function for 30 minutes before requiring cleaning, indicating a significant improvement in the quality of the water.
